מדי שנה, בחודש מרץ, מתכנסות נבחרות מהקמפוסים של אנקורי ברחבי הארץ לאירוע דיבייט במכללה האקדמית תל אביב יפו. במסגרת הארוע מתחרות הנבחרות השונות בהצגת עמדות בעד ונגד נושאים בתחומי החברה והתרבות, שאותן הכינו מראש. הנבחרות מציגות את עמדותיהן באנגלית ומקבלות נקודות משופטי רשת החינוך אנקורי על רהיטות הדברים ועל אופן ההצגה.

ובמקום הראשון בארץ – נבחרת אנקורי

הארוע הוא ארוע מקדים להשתתפות נבחרת משולבת של כל הקמפוסים של אנקורי בתחרות Debating Matters , שמאורגנת על ידי המכון הבריטי Institute of Ideas.

בתחרות משתתפים תלמידים מתיכונים ברחבי הארץ ואנחנו גאים ושמחים לבשר כי בשנת 2015 ניצחה נבחרת אנקורי בתחרות הארצית וגרפה את המקום הראשון.

נעמה מס, מורה לאנגלית בקמפוס אנקורי ירושלים, שהכינה את נבחרת אנקורי לתחרות, מספרת לג'רוזלם פוסט: "הכניסה לארוע Debating matters שינתחה לחלוטין את התפיסה של התלמידים שלי בנוגע ללימודים. לא בגלל שהם אוהבים את הלימודים לפתע, אלא משום שהם נהנו. הם בנו את הטיעונים שלהם, ביצעו מחקר מעמיק על הנושאים והכינו את המצגות שלהם כדי להרשים את השופטים, את הקהל ואת הצוות המתחרה. הם בנו שאלות אינטיליגנטיות כדי להכשיל את היריבים שלהם… אבל בשום רגע בתהליך כולו הם לא הבינו שהם לומדים"
